New Boston Sex Assault Case Continued To Mid-November

A New Boston man’s sexual assault case has been continued to November. 25-year-old Joshua Masters appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court Tuesday morning for a pre-trial conference. He faces a Class 1 felony and was arrested in June after Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call in New Boston. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the New Boston Police Department and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services. Masters remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail on $100,000 bond. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, Illinois Supreme Court rules do not allow jury trials at this time. Masters will next appear in court on Nov. 17.
