More Questions For Sheriff About Side-By-Sides In County

Mercer County Sheriff Dusty Terrill continues to field questions about side-by-sides in the county. Some signage has been popping up around the county, but he says no route has officially been approved to his knowledge and he’s not sure who has the authority to put the signs up. He also adds that if eventually approved, there will not be a dual speed limit, meaning not just side-by-sides, but all vehicles will have to travel 35 miles per hour on those designated routes.

And even though side-by-side signs are up in some areas, Terrill says technically they still cannot operate on those roads since the route hasn’t officially been approved.

Terrill says if anyone has any questions about the side by side issue they should attend the April 13 Mercer County Board meeting.
