Miguel’s Closes Doors 2 Weeks Early, Employees Say They Were Never Notified Of Upcoming Change Or Closure

A Mexican restaurant in Aledo has closed its doors two weeks earlier than planned, as employees say they were never notified of the change.

On Thursday, Miguel’s Grill & Bar announced it would close on Dec. 28 and begin a transition into a second Judy’s Family Café location. The restaurant is owned by Judy Wang, who also owns Judy’s Family Café in Galesburg.

Miguel then announced on social media over the weekend that it would be closing at the end of the day on Sunday.

Rosa Alvarado, a server at Miguel’s, claimed in a video on social media that the staff was never notified of the upcoming change or the plans to end operations at Miguel’s, which led them to decide close early.

Alvardao has started a GoFundMe page for former employees of the restaurant.

Miguel’s, formerly Los Charros, had been open for 15 years in Aledo.

Wang said on social media she hopes to open the Judy’s Family Cafe location in Aledo in May 2026.
