Mercer County Supt. Arrested For OWI In Scott County

The Mercer County School District superintendent has been arrested for operating while intoxicated or OWI in Iowa over the weekend. 52 year old Scott Petrie was taken into custody late Saturday night. The arresting agency was the Eldridge Police Department, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Department inmate list. The booking information cites him with OWI first offense, no registration, no insurance and failure to yield—all misdemeanor offenses in Iowa. Bond was set at $1,000.
The following is a statement from Unit 404 Board of Education president Julie Wagner on behalf of the school board: “The school board is aware of the situation and looking in to it.  Since this is a personnel issue, we can not comment further at this time.”
