A rural New Boston man has been arrested for felon in possession of a gun and reckless discharge of a firearm. Marvin Hughes was taken into custody Friday, according to a report from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies were assisted by the New Boston Police Department. An arrest warrant for a juvenile is also being sought on other charges.
Also from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to investigate a two-vehicle accident with injuries on 1st Avenue in rural Alexis on Friday. 52-year-old Gary Hays was arrested for DUI. Seaton Fire and Genesis Ambulance assisted at the scene.
