Only a light slate of local candidates have filed for next year’s primary. Monday was the deadline to file the necessary paperwork at the Mercer County Clerk’s office to be on the March 19 ballot. Doing so was Mercer County State’s Attorney Grace Simpson, Mercer County Coroner Greg Larson, Mercer County Circuit Clerk Kristin Relander, and Mercer County Board members Chris DeMink of Sherrard and Gary Anderson of Aledo.
