Local State Sen. Anderson Announces Nearly $270,000 in State Fire Equipment Grants For Local Departments

Local State Senator Neil Anderson (R-Andalusia) is announcing that fire departments and fire protection districts throughout the 47th Senate District have been awarded nearly $270,000 through the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal’s (OSFM) 2026 Small Equipment Grant Program.

The grants are part of a statewide initiative that awarded $6 million to 260 fire departments, fire protection districts and EMS providers to assist with the purchase of small firefighting and ambulance equipment.

Departments receiving grant funding in the 47th Senate District include:

  • Dallas Rural Fire Protection District – $25,363.80
  • Oquawka Fire Protection District – $26,000
  • Kewanee Community Fire Protection District – $26,000
  • Altona Fire Protection District – $23,445
  • Maquon Fire Protection District – $18,832.75
  • Bath Fire Protection District – $24,385
  • Kilbourne Fire Protection District – $22,905.40
  • Good Hope-Sciota Fire Protection District – $26,000
  • Schaeferville Fire Protection District – $25,971
  • Cincinnati Fire Protection District – $26,000
  • Central Warren County Fire Protection District – $24,970

The Small Equipment Grant Program was established to assist fire departments and nonprofit ambulance services in addressing equipment needs that may be challenging to fund solely through local revenues. Grants of up to $26,000 are available for the purchase of essential small equipment that supports emergency response operations.
