Larry “The Flagman” Eckhardt has passed away. His mission was well documented – lining American flags for funeral processions to honor veterans and first responders throughout the country. He spoke with WRMJ in 2014 when his work was documented in the book “Under One God: A Journey from 9/11 to the Heartland.”
Eckhardt died Tuesday morning in hospice care. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
