Joshua B. Hall, 52 of New Windsor, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at home. Services will be held on Friday, November 7, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Matherville, Illinois, beginning with a rosary at 10 a.m. Visitation will immediately follow the rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30. Burial will be at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Viola, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to New Windsor Fire and Ambulance or Alexis/North Henderson EMS.
Josh was born in Silvis, Illinois, on July 8, 1973, to Brian and Catherine “Katie” Hall. He graduated from Sherrard High School in 1991 and later earned a degree in electrical engineering from Hamilton Tech College. Josh was previously employed as a restoration specialist.
Josh was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and never missed a game. He enjoyed watching movies, woodworking, fishing, and surfing. His greatest joy was spending time with family sharing stories and good food. Josh was a devout member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Josh was a beloved father, son, and brother. Those left to cherish Josh’s memory include his children, Lainee Hall of Milford, Ohio, and Eric and Logan Hall of Amelia, Ohio; his devoted mother, Katie; his best friend and brother, Zac of New Windsor; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. J often referred to his cousins and friends as “brothers from another mother and sisters from another mister.”
Josh was preceded in death by his father, Brian; his grandparents; and his uncle, Ross.
Josh’s family would like to thank the numerous doctors, nurses, aides, EMTs, and others that assisted Josh during his lengthy illness. Josh was known as the happiest of patients. He always had a smile for you.
