WRMJ Sports Director Jim Taylor visited with Mercer County High School head football coach and athletic director Andrew Hofer Thursday morning. The two discussed IHSA contact days, which run Sept. 7 to Oct. 31 this fall. Sports like football and other sports that are not in-season during the fall can utilize up to 20 contact days, allowing interaction and instruction between coaches and student athletes.
Hofer tells WRMJ the Golden Eagles are planning a 7-on-7 intrasquad scrimmage under the lights of Pratt Memorial Field on Friday night, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m.
