George Mueller, 82 of Taylor Ridge, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, at Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of services, Tuesday, at the church. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the church or Rockridge FFA. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family. George was born on October 30, 1939 in Moline, Illinois, the son of Lawrence and Anna Laura (Parks) Mueller. He married Cherryl Castor on August 16, 1959 in Buffalo Prairie.
Mr. Mueller was a lifelong farmer in the Taylor Ridge area. He served on the Rock Island County Farm Bureau; the local Township Board; Rockridge School District, where he had served as president; and on the board of Directors with Hamlet Insurance and Gold Star FS.
George was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cherryl; children and spouses, David (Sharon) Mueller, Taylor Ridge, Melinda (John) Wiborg, Des Moines, Iowa, Melissa (Dustin) Joy, Illinois City, and George Christopher (Amy) Mueller, Bloomington; grandchildren, Celia Mueller, Kate Mueller, William Wiborg, Chloe Joy, Phoebe Joy, Owen Joy, and Kaitlyn (Josh) Crater; great grandchildren, Finnick Crater and one on the way; and siblings, James (Shirley) Mueller, Peoria, Don (Nancy) Mueller, Illinois City, Kathy (David) Reason, Joy, and Michael (Vera) Mueller, Omaha, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Anna.
