FurEver Friends Reminding Residents Why New Mercer County Animal Shelter Is Needed

As construction continues on the new animal control facility for Mercer County, FurEver Friends for Mercer County Animals is reminding residents why the upgrade is needed. Jerry Bryan of Sherrard is vice president of the group.

FurEver Friends for Mercer County Animals is contributing $140,000 for the new 2,100 square foot building, which is being constructed near the existing one behind the Mercer County Highway Department. Donations are still being accepted for the project at P.O. Box 32, Aledo, IL 61231. RKE Construction of Buffalo Prairie is the contractor for the facility. Ground was broken in July.
