Essig Motors
On an unseasonably warm night for Aledo’s Holly Days, Essig Motors was voted by the judges as the best tree in WRMJ’s Trees In The Park. This year there are 30 decorated trees sponsored and decorated by local businesses, school groups, clubs, and organizations. Essig’s garnered 80 out of a possible 90 points. Second place with 75 points went to the tree sponsored by Genesis Medical Center and decorated by the Mercer County Preschool and in third place with 74 points was the tree sponsored and decorated by Advanced Rehab and Sports Medicine. All three decorators will receive a cash prize from WRMJ.
The Peoples Choice Award, as voted on by the people in the park Friday night, went to the tree sponsored by the Mercer County Jaycees and decorated by the Mercer County YMCA Preschool, who will also win a cash prize.
A large crowd was in downtown Aledo for the Electric Light Parade and the lighting of the 30-foot Christmas tree at the former Fell gas station location.
