The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department announces a fleeing and eluding arrest from over the weekend. According to a press release, deputies attempted a traffic stop on two side-by-sides in the Keithsburg area early Saturday morning. When the stop was initiated, both vehicles continued traveling away from the deputies. Deputies were able to eventually stop one of the vehicles, while the other continued to flee. Following a brief investigation, it was determined the driver of the other vehicle was 23 year old Zachary Lehew of Eliza. He was arrested and taken to the Mercer County Jail where he later posted bond.
