Mercer County and Sherrard met on the baseball and softball diamond Wednesday. The Golden Eagles took the baseball game while the Tigers outslugged the Golden Eagles to win the softball game. Peyton Dye’s two run home run in the the bottom of the sixth broke a 5-5 tie and propelled the Rockets to a win over Erie-Prophetstown.
