Donna L. Quick, 81 of Viola, Illinois, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Avonlea Cottage, Milan. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 25, at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery. Memorials may be left for Mercer County Animal Control or Alzheimer’s Association.
Donna Lee was born May 11, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Helen Richardson Martin. She attended Davenport Central High School. On November 28, 1959, she married David Alan Quick at her parent’s home in Davenport. They were married until his death on July 12, 2012. Donna was known for her handy work and helping Dave remodel homes. She and Dave built several homes in Viola. Donna worked at Davenport Packing Co. and DanDee and Martha’s Restaurant for many years. She stayed busy helping her kids with their home projects. Donna loved her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Euchre, and gambling as well as loving music and dancing, gardening, and fishing. Donna and Dave raised Yorkshire Terrier puppies for several years, and she dearly loved their dogs, Chloe and Dora.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Rebecca (Scott) Bollinger of Viola, Alisa (Curt) Caldwell of Omaha, Nebraska, Mark (Raleen) Quick of Oswego, and Scott Quick of Viola; grandchildren: Eric Carney, Brandon Carney, Abbi Wilson, Briley (Zack) Birkey, Brennen (Madison) Bollinger, Brittany Bollinger, Lexi Caldwell, Kaylee (Will) Wallesen, Landon Caldwell, Reghan Quick, Karrighan Quick, Delaney Quick, Keelan Quick, and Cade Quick; and great grandchildren: Creighton, Maddon, and Scotlyn Birkey and Shea Bollinger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: David Lee Quick; and sister: Dorothy Bloomfield.
