Donald W. Butcher, 85 of Aledo, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in Aledo. The graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 4, at the Aledo Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be left to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo is assisting the family with the arrangements. Don was born on December 27, 1939, in Aledo, the son of Charles and Pauline Waters Butcher. He was a graduate of Aledo High School. On March 18, 1961, he married Joyce Jones. They were married for 54 years before her passing on June 5, 2015.
He owned and operated Don’s Drywall and Painting for many years. In his free time, Don enjoyed golfing, clay target shooting, hunting, and flying radio controlled airplanes.
He is survived by two children, Jeffrey (Teresa Jackson) Butcher of Aledo and Ron (Lisa) Butcher of Eldridge, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Anne Butcher of Huntley, Illinois; six grandchildren, Branden Butcher, Blake Butcher, Hollie (Rachel) Allbaugh, Sara (Darrell) Reynolds, Tyler Butcher, and Reagan Butcher; brother, Lee (Barb) Butcher of Alexis; sister-in-law, Shirley Butcher of Tucson, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Timothy Butcher; sister, Dorothy (Robert) Seiver; and brother, Kenneth Butcher.
