A former Illinois City man has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty in Mercer County Circuit Court to a Class 3 felony of possession of a firearm with a revoked FOID card and a Class 4 felony of driving while license revoked. 48-year-old William Gorham’s latest sentence will run concurrent with an eight year prison term handed down in 2020 in Rock Island County for a Class 1 felony aggravated DUI charge. The Mercer County charges stemmed from a December of 2017 arrest. He would bond out in that case but was arrested a few weeks later on the Rock Island County DUI charge. Following a 2018 court hearing, former Mercer County State’s Attorney Meeghan Lee indicated that Gorham’s record included four prior DUI’s.
Gorham is in custody at the Centralia Correctional Center.
