Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle sitting in Karl Lake in Sherrard over the Christmas holiday weekend. Sherrard Fire was also dispatched on Saturday to assist searching the lake for any occupants. The owner of the vehicle was located at his residence and after a short investigation, 49-year-old Steven A. Kratzberg was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Kratzberg was transported to the Mercer County Jail, where he was later released pending his initial court appearance.
