Mercer County’s Carson Boelens finished third at the IHSA 1A Riverdale Boys Golf Sectional at TPC Deere Run Monday to advance to state. Boelens shot a 76. The individual winner was Jake Guse of Rockford Lutherlan, who shot a 74. Other local state qualifiers: Galva’s Jaxson Willer (77), Knoxville’s Titus Cramer (77), Riverdale’s Blake Sutton (79), and Sherrard’s Andrew Boland (80).
The IHSA 1A Kewanee Girls Golf Sectional was won individually by Boylan Catholic’s Ella Greenburg with a score of 72 at Baker Park. Local state qualifiers were Kewanee’s Mya Mirocha (77), Ridgewood’s Gracie Russell (84), Rockridge’s Hannah Graves (86), and Orion’s Sofia Fernandez (86).
