A plea date has been scheduled for later this summer for a Sherrard woman charged in an animal cruelty case. 57-year-old Karen Plambeck appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court Monday morning for a pre-trial conference. She faces five misdemeanor counts accusing her of failing to provide a sufficient quantity of good wholesome food to four horses she owned. Plambeck has pleaded not guilty to the charges. She posted $1,000 bond and was released from the Mercer County Jail shortly after her arrest in October of 2019. A plea date is scheduled for Aug. 16.
