14th Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Walter Braud has assigned Associate Judge Peter Church to preside over the criminal case of Mercer County High School teacher Mark Artcher. The order was filed this week in Mercer County Circuit Court. A pre-trial conference is set for June 17th. Artcher faces a Class X felony of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two Class 2 felonies of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The charges allege three different victims under the age of 13. Artcher remains free on $100,000 bond and was placed on leave by the school district in April. His attorney filed a motion to substitute Judge Richard Zimmer last month.
