2007 Aledo High School grad Logan Willits in line to become next Annawan-Wethersfield head football coach. The Wethersfield School Board approved the hire last night. He had been serving as offensive coordinator for the program and also teaches at Wethersfield and is the head baseball coach for the AW Titans. Per Wethersfield Supt. Shane Kazubowski, the Annawan School Board must also approve the hire. They’re scheduled to take action June 19th. Willits will replace Brandon Johnston as head football coach. Johnston has taken a job in Arizona.
Also last night, the Wethersfield School Board approves hiring former Bureau Valley head coach Joe Schmitt as teacher and assistant football coach for the AW Titans. He served as an assistant with the program from 2010-2016 and had been the head coach for BV the last three years.
