No fireworks in Aledo this 4th of July, but a show could return next summer. The Aledo City Council is looking at bringing in a third party to put on a fireworks display and the subject will be part of budget discussions later this year.
In prior years, the city has contributed $3,000 to the Aledo Fire Department for the fireworks show, but the event has become too costly for the department and they decided to cancel this year’s display.
