An agricultural educational camp for local elementary school students is celebrating its 30th year.
The 30th annual ACE Camp took place at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Aledo on Tuesday. Nearly 200 second-grade students from the Mercer County and Sherrard school districts took part in the day-long camp on Tuesday, which gives them hands-on experiences in areas related to agriculture, conservation, and the environment at 11 unique stations.
Mercer County Farm Bureau Manager Jenna Preston spoke with WRMJ on Tuesday about the meaning of keeping the camp going for 30 years.
The Mercer County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom co-sponsors ACE Camp with the Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District.
