Four current and former Mercer County School District employees are due back in court on Monday.
Superintendent Tim Farquer and district IT workers Amberly Norton and Andrea Long have their respective preliminary hearings scheduled for Monday. All three were arrested last month following an Aledo Police Department investigation into a complaint accusing Mercer County School District employees of illegally accessing students’ medical records.
According to court records, Farquer is alleged to have compiled a database of vaccine information about students and shared it with unauthorized people on Sept. 1. During their initial court appearance last month, Norton and Long were accused of committing the alleged offenses beginning on July 19, 2019.
Farquer, Norton and Long are each charged with a Class A misdemeanor of unauthorized access to medical records, a Class A misdemeanor of computer tampering and a Class 3 felony of official misconduct.
Farquer was placed on paid administrative leave by the school district last month.
Former Mercer County High School ag teacher Brandon Livingston has a pre-trial conference in his inappropriate messaging case scheduled for Monday.
Livingston is facing a Class 3 felony of official misconduct and a Class A misdemeanor of distribution of explicit material to a minor.
Livingston was arrested last October and placed on administrative leave by the Mercer County School District at the time. He has since resigned from his teaching position. In a press release at the time of the arrest, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department said it “received a complaint on Oct. 28, 2024, regarding seemingly inappropriate text messages that were sent to a minor.”
