A Quad Cities man is facing charges following a crash into a residential lawn in Viola. It happened Tuesday off of U.S. 67, according to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department report. Michael Owen of East Moline was charged with driving while revoked. He is accused of operating his vehicle in a careless manner before crashing into the yard at the intersection of U.S. 67 and 12th Avenue. The report indicates he fled on foot after the wreck and was apprehended a short time later. Owen was transported from the scene by ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries at an area hospital. Further charges are pending.
