The Illinois Department of Natural Resources offering a hunter safety education course this weekend in Mercer County. The two-day class is Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 24 & 25) from Noon to 5 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Keithsburg. Instructor Allen Henshaw says all hunters born on or after January 1, 1980 must successfully complete the course before they can receive their first hunting license.
