Local State Representative Dan Swanson has introduced legislation that will assist firefighters in their jobs as first responders. House Bill 338 will ensure that side-by-sides will lawfully be able to be used by fire departments around the state.
He says many fire departments are going to side-by-sides, which bring even more off-road capability to navigate challenging terrain with ease, allowing them to navigate through rough and inaccessible terrains where traditional fire trucks cannot reach.
House Bill 338 was approved last week by the Transportation: Vehicles and Safety Committee and now moves to the full House for consideration.
