Trial Date Set In New Boston Man’s Drug Induced Homicide Case

A June 23 jury trial has been scheduled for a New Boston man facing drug-induced homicide and methamphetamine delivery charges. The new date was set this week for 42-year-old Dale Robert Woodsmall. He was arrested last July following a suspicious death investigation near Seaton that began last May, according to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department media release. Woodsmall remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail with a final pre-trial conference set for May 19.

Illinois State Police, the Mercer County State’s Attorney’s office, Mercer County Coroner Greg Larson, the Peoria County Coroner’s office, and the Aledo Police Department assisted the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department with the investigation.
