The Mercer County Veterans Assistance Commission promoting the services they offer.
Stacy Huggins serves as secretary of the commission. The office is located on the second floor of the Mercer County Courthouse and their number is 309-582-2714. They also play an active role in the annual Christmas Clearinghouse, which provides gift baskets to those in need during the holidays.
Also, every first and third Thursday of the month, Veterans Service Officer Steven R. Birdett of the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs is available at the office.
