Black Hawk College again offering the Highway Construction Careers Training Program in the new year. The program has resulted in great success says BHC’s Paul Fessler.
The intensive training is 36 hours per week, beginning Feb. 28. Like apprenticeships in the building trades, the program is “earn while you learn.” There is no cost to students accepted into the program, and students selected for the Spring 2022 class will earn $10 per hour.
Eligible candidates must be 18 or older, have a high school diploma or GED®, have a valid driver’s license, and be interested in the construction trades.
Interested students MUST attend an orientation session on one of these dates:
- Thursday, Jan. 13 at 10 a.m.
- Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 6 p.m.
- Friday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m.
- Monday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m.
- Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m.
