Local Memorial Day services are planned in Mercer County. Aledo American Legion’s Jay Doherty says a public gathering is set for Monday, May 31 at Aledo Central Park.
Memorial Day services will also be held at the Union Church at the Eliza Creek Cemetery on Monday, May 31 at 1:30 p.m. The service will be held in the church, followed by the reading of the Roll Call of Veterans, those attending are then asked to follow the flag bearers and proceed through the cemetery to decorate the graves.
