A Vietnam War Traveling Tribute coming to Aledo this June. It’s a replica of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington says Steve Johnson. He is raising funds to bring the display to Mercer County, which will be set up during Rhubarb Festival weekend. But even if the festival isn’t held, the replica memorial will still happen.
If you’d like to donate to the cause, you can make checks payable to MCVT, PO Box 24, Aledo, IL 61231. Also, a meeting will be held March 28 at 2 p.m. at the Mercer County VFW. Volunteers are needed to staff the wall 24-hours a day while it’s in Aledo from June 3-6.
