We should be in the middle of the Illinois State Fair, but the event canceled this summer due to the ongoing pandemic. One of the top Mercer County memories was in 2012, when Seaton native and Mercer County High School grad A.J. Line won grand champion steer honors. His dad Todd Line was interviewed by RFD Radio Network’s Rita Frazer that summer.
The only other times the Illinois State Fair was canceled occurred during World War II and the Civil War.
