A lengthy discussion on county finances. It occurred last night during the regular Mercer County Board meeting and layoffs were even mentioned as a possibility by Mercer County Board Chairman Carlos Sarabasa of Aledo.
Also last night, the county board learned from Public Building Commission Chairman Montie Schell that specs are being drawn up to fix the courthouse elevator and it could cost between $225,000 to $300,000 for the project.
