This Saturday, Sherrard High School will honor the 1974 football team. 1974 marked the first ever year of the IHSA high school football playoffs and Sherrard lost to Alexis that year in the 2A semifinals, 10-to-9 in double overtime. WRMJ Sports Director spoke with both coaches from that game this morning–Sherrard’s Wayne DeSutter and John Elder from Alexis.
