Sherrard will have five events competing in the finals of the IHSA 1A Girls State Track and Field Championships in Charleston on Saturday.
Advancing in Thursday’s prelims for the Tigers were Saidie Shemek (discus), Aliza Dominique and Khloe Kunz (pole vault), Anna Churchill (800), and the 4×400 relay (Cami Anderson, Sophia Bradarich, Piper Russell, Churchill).
Mercer County has three event finalists with Alayna Mitchell (300-meter hurdles) and the 4×800 relay (Emalyn Millar, Brookelyn Clark, Jorgi Arnold, Helen Baldwin) advancing in Thursday’s prelims. Millar will also run in the 3200 on Saturday.
Orion’s Savannah Streeter is a finalist in the high jump.
