A Matherville woman facing three felony meth-related charges has had her pretrial release revoked.
40-year-old Ashley Engels appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing, where a Mercer County judge denied her defense’s motion to reconsider her pretrial release. Engels was originally granted pretrial release with home detention and GPS tracking following her arrest last month, but was taken into custody again last week after the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department says it served a failure-to-appear warrant.
Engels is facing Class X felony charges of methamphetamine trafficking, methamphetamine delivery between 100-400 grams, and methamphetamine possession between 100-400 grams.
Engels will return to court on July 7. She remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail.
