Sharon M. Adams – Services 6/5/22

Sharon M. Adams, 85 of Aledo, passed away suddenly, Friday, May 27, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Viola. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, June 5, at Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services, Aledo. Rev. Douglas Johnson of the United Community Church in Matherville will officiate. There will be no public visitation. Burial will follow at Farlow Grove Cemetery in Matherville. Memorials may be left to the church.

Sharon Maxine Moore was born February 28, 1937, in Aledo, the daughter of Robert Wade and Lela Belle Williams Moore. She married Duane Edwin Adams on March 19, 1955, at the New Windsor Presbyterian Church.

She had worked as a janitor and head cook at Sherrard Community Unit School District 200 for many years prior to retirement. She was a member of the United Community Church of Matherville. She loved the Lord. Sharon taught Sunday School for years, was a member of the church board and the Ladies’ Aid Society.

She loved her grandchildren, enjoyed eating out and watching sports, especially the Hawkeyes.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include sons, Monte (Jean Ann) Adams of Matherville, Bryan Adams of Atlanta, GA, Brent (Linda) Adams of Grand Blanc, MI, and Rodney (Donna) Adams of Preemption; daughters, Cassie Herman of Viola and Nancy (Chuck) McMeekan of Viola; grandchildren, Angela (Richard) Aston, Eric (Molly) Herman, Shawn (Gina) Herman, Thomas (Lindsey) Adams, Jason (Rory Berigan) Adams, Seth (Samantha Beahlen) Adams, Abigail (Ryan) St. Peter, Matthew Adams, Chad McMeekan, Megan (Ryon) Mullins, and Braley (Nick) Kratz; eighteen great grandchildren; one brother, Walter Brown of Aledo; one sister, Judy (Larry) McMeekan of Sherrard; and in-laws, Mary Adams of Milan, Dolores Douglas of Chicago, Thomas (Cindy) Adams of Moline, and Kenneth (Pam) Adams of Matherville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane in 2007; infant sister, Mary Lou; and daughter-in-law, Angie Adams.
