Residents and businesses in the eastern part of Aledo were without power late Saturday night and into early Sunday morning when a snowplow’s bucket clipped a power line along Route 17 just east of the city. The highway was closed from just east of Gold Star FS to the Wal-Mart intersection. Ameren IP Crews were called to the scene around 11:00 pm to repair the downed power line. Power was restored at approximately 12:45 this morning. There were no injuries. Mercer County Sheriff’s deputies and Aledo City Police also responded to the call.
