The Mercer County School District is looking to move quickly in finding its next football coach.
Former head coach Tanner Matlick resigned Tuesday. He missed the final two games of the 2024 season while serving an indefinite suspension for “a culmination of a series of events resulting in a climate and culture below the expectations of the school district and community.”
Mercer County Schools Superintedent Tim Farquer says Mercer County is hoping to have its new coach hired next month.
The next Mercer County School District Board of Education meeting is Wednesday, Dec. 18.
