Kevin L. Greer – Services 1/31/23

Kevin L. Greer, 63 of Viola, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, January 30, at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Funeral service is 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded after services. Memorials may be left for the family.

Kevin Lavern was born November 22, 1959, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Merle and Wanda King Greer. He attended Winola High School. In 1980, he married Lori Hedger and together they had a daughter; in 1985, he married Kelly Reichert and from this union came three children. On July 7, 2012, Kevin married Robin Gill in Viola. In his early years, he worked in waste management. Kevin had worked at Lynch’s Excavating, but worked most of his years with Brandt Construction. In his free-time, he enjoyed camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, and horseback riding, as well as tinkering and working in his shop.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Robin Greer; children: Kristi Greer, Alex (Rita) Reichert-Greer, Andrianna (David) Franks, and Kalina Lagunas; grandchildren: Joseph, Patrick, and Makenzie Pepper, Riley Franks, Breana, Alexandria, Miko, and Benny Lagunas, and Charlie and Chelsee Reichert-Greer; sister: Wendy (Bill) Reckers; aunt: Karen King; numerous nieces and nephews; and the campground idiots.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Sami Wanek; and siblings: Bradley Greer, Dwayne Greer, and Dorothy Hutt.
