Judith M. Redlinger, 81 of Seaton, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 2, at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in McClure Cemetery, Seaton, Illinois. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make donations to one of the countless charities Judy volunteered for, including Furever Friends, SPARKS, and Women for Women.
Judith Marie was born on November 17, 1944, in Monmouth, Illinois, to Charles D. “Pooky” and Ruth Elizabeth (Chambers) Harlan. After graduating from Aledo High School, she attended training for her LPN. She married Richard Lee Redlinger, later divorcing.
Judy worked for various operations in the hospitality industry including resorts, hotels, and restaurants. She was the essence of the perfect hostess. Judy was a tireless volunteer, working many hours for what she believed in. Some of her favorites included FurEver Friends, SPARKS, Scottish American Society, Chapter H PEO, Mercer County Historical Society, Mercer County Women for Women, Cornbelt Running Club, The Figge Art Museum, and her hometown church, Center Presbyterian Church.
Judy also believed in having fun with her love of skiing, kayaking, and going on Rescue Runs. She loved to try new things including dog sledding, white water rafting, or anything her family wanted to try.
Those left to cherish Judy’s memory and carry on her legacy include her children and spouses, Sloane and Jae Milewski, Cynthia Gill, Devan Redlinger and Tom Klein, and Jeff and Coleen Redlinger; grandchildren, Carley Milewski, Morgan Milewski, Payton Gill and Mackay Weddell, Sean and Ashley Kenney, and Jackson Redlinger; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Lylah; and siblings and spouses, Sue Taylor, Tom and Susie Harlan, Ruth Ann and Jerry McNearney, and Frank and Diane Harlan. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband; and brother-in-law, Larry Taylor.
