A brief disruption at the Aledo Department of Motor Vehicles office Wednesday morning left those waiting outside confused when the doors failed to open at the usual time. Aledo Police were called to the scene.
According to Aledo Police Chief Trevor Fisk, the situation stemmed from a civil dispute between the landlord and the tenant. “We were contacted by the Secretary of State office to come down and just maintain the peace. As far as I know, it was a civil dispute between landlord and tenant,” said the responding officer. “And as far as I know about that, it’s been resolved, at least for today.”
Normal operations at the DMV resumed shortly after. The officer added, “I just reported back to the Secretary of State that everything was fine here. We feel that Aledo is very fortunate to have the Secretary of State’s office in Aledo. So my conversation with the landlord is that I hope they can work it out and maintain this facility in this city.”
No further disruptions are expected, and services at the Aledo DMV are continuing as scheduled.
