Remember the man labeled as “Mercer County’s best meth cook”. It’s been nearly three years since we’ve heard about 25 year old Charles Peacock. A $100,000 arrest warrant was issued for him in March of 2017 after he failed to appear for a hearing in Mercer County Circuit Court on a petition to revoke his probation. Peacock had been free on a $50,000 recognizance bond. He was placed on four years’ probation in May of 2016 for violating the terms of his probation in a 2015 meth manufacturing case. The former Andalusia man was originally placed on three years’ probation for the Class 1 felony in February of 2016, but violated the conditions by visiting the co-defendant in the case and also failing to complete a drug evaluation. Mercer County State’s Attorney Meeghan Lee had indicated previously she was seeking up to 12-years in prison for Peacock. Mercer County authorities last believed he was living in Florida.
