Sherrard High School is gearing up to host the third annual Mike Hutchins Holiday Classic.
The yearly boys basketball Christmas tournament honors late Sherrard teacher and administrator Mike Huthins, who graduated from the school in 1961 and worked at Sherrard High School from 1975-95 as a teacher, administrator and athletic director.
His son, Eric, is the tournament director.
The tournament runs Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at Sherrard High School.
Participating teams this year include Sherrard, Annawan, Alleman, Peoria Notre Dame, Princeton, Payson Seymour, East Dubuque and Byron.
