The MC Art Collective is gearing up for its third annual Art Gala this weekend.
The event features artwork from pre-k through 12th-grade students in the Mercer County School District and alumni that is auctioned off. Each artist gets 25% of the money their project goes for, and the rest of the funds go towards trips and scholarships for local artists.
This year’s event takes place at the Aledo Opera House on Saturday. A silent auction begins when doors open at 5:30 p.m., and live bidding gets underway at 6:30.
Tara Guidinger and Myah Balmer, who organize the gala, spoke with WRMJ on Wednesday to promote the event.
The MC Art Collective Art Walk is on Thursday, where you can view the artwork that will be auctioned off, displayed in downtown Aledo businesses.
