Aledo awarded a $250,000 Safe Routes To School grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The city applied for the grant last September at which time city administrator Chris Sullivan detailed the application.
IDOT’s Paul Wappel says the Safe Routes To School program is all about sidewalks, bike paths, and ADA compliant ramps.
The grant was announced Wednesday by IDOT.
