Three electric vehicle charging stations are coming to Aledo.
The City of Aledo approved a quote of nearly $35,000 for installation costs of three electric vehicle chargers at this week’s city council meeting on Monday.
The quote is from Mangieri Electric of Galesburg, a local Ameren electric vehicle installer. The quote excludes costs related to local power companies, concrete that needs to be poured and asphalt patching.
In March, the City of Aledo announced it was awarded $50,000 in funding through the Illinois Community Engagement and Consultation (CEC) Program for the project.
Aledo City Administrator Mike Chausse says electric vehicle chargers will be a nice addition to the city.
Two charging stations will be located at Aledo Central Park, and the third station will be near the Aledo Police Department.
